Greek's religious beliefs
The Greeks believed in gods and goddesses like all other religions around the world, except the Greeks saw these gods as deities that had human-like characteristics.

Out of the 3142 gods and goddesses 12 of them were the most important to the Greeks, and the Greeks believed that the 12 gods and goddesses lived on mount Olympus, the tallest mountain in Greece, protected by a gate of clouds.

The Olympics
The Olympics were a tradition where Greek athletes competed in competitions to glorify Zeus, and gain approval of the gods by showing their skills in art, thinking, and athleticism.
The first Olympic game took place in Olympia in 776 B.C., and has continued for hundreds of years and are still present in modern time around the world.
